Data Equity Incubator

Supporting ethnic minority women to grow ideas into ventures through data and insight

Data-led Ventures for Ethnic Minority Women

What stage does my idea or business need to be at?

Any stage is welcome. You might just have an idea, be testing something small, or already be trading. The programme is designed to be flexible, so you can apply what you learn to your current idea and to future ventures too.

Is this programme only for tech or data-focused businesses?

No. Your business does not need to be a tech or data business. The skills you’ll learn - such as understanding customers, using information to make decisions, and working more confidently with digital tools - are useful across all sectors, from social enterprise and freelancing to creative and commercial ventures.

Do I need experience in data, AI, or technology to take part?

Any stage is welcome. You might just have an idea, be testing something small, or already be trading. The programme is designed to be flexible, so you can apply what you learn to your current idea and to future ventures too.

Dreaming of starting a business, exploring a new idea, or building something of your own? The DATA EQUITY INCUBATOR is designed to support ethnic minority women to grow ideas into confident, data-informed ventures - at any stage.

The Data Equity Incubator is a new pilot programme delivered by DataKirk, in partnership with Bright Red Triangle. It offers a supportive space to learn, experiment, and build, bringing together women with ideas who want to develop practical data, digital, and enterprise skills.

Participants are supported by data and enterprise specialists and learn alongside a peer cohort, building skills they can apply immediately and in the future. The programme runs from March to July, combining online workshops with in-person sessions.

Through hands-on learning, mentoring, and peer support, participants build confidence in using data, digital tools, and AI to better understand customers, shape ideas, and communicate their venture clearly. Along the way, they grow a supportive network, strengthen their business thinking, and develop skills that can support a business, social enterprise, freelance work, or a future venture whatever path comes next.

What you can expect?

Through a 10-session training programme, participants will:
  • Build confidence to develop ideas into viable ventures using practical, data-informed tools
  • Learn how to use data and AI in simple, accessible ways to support everyday decision-making
  • Gain clearer insight into customers, finances, and the next steps for an idea or venture
  • Learn alongside a supportive cohort of ethnic minority women, sharing experiences and ideas
  • Access guidance and mentoring from DataKirk, Bright Red Triangle, and invited specialists
  • Develop transferable skills and meaningful connections to support future ventures, careers, or community projects.

Upcoming course dates

The Data Equity Incubator will be delivered over ten fortnightly sessions, alongside monthly in-person workshops.
